Boatswain's Beach

My second favorite attraction in the Cayman Islands is the Turtle Farm aka Boatswain's Beach.  It may seem trivial to hold a turtle in your hands and take a photo but trust me, the experience is worth it if only to touch these amazing creatures.

In recent years Boatswain's Beach has expanded operations and now have other attractions such as an Aviary, a predator tank and a nice pool where you can spend the day relaxing if the beach isn't your thing.  There is also a really cool bar and restaurant in the park.

This photo was taken as engagement photos for Johana and Albert.

The following photos are of the animals found in the park...

Kemp Ridley's - endangered species

This is a regular sea turtle and they sometimes they end up on the dinner table as the Turtle Farm does sell turtle meat.  I have never tried it so please don't ask me what it tastes like.

Bird at the Aviary.  They were a friendly bunch.

Cayman Parrot - indigenous to the Caribbean.

Have you hugged a turtle today?
