Beach Jumps

You know how you wake up in the morning and you are so excited you almost forget to brush your teeth?  Well, that's how I feel every single time I'm going out to do a beach shoot.  I love, love, love doing beach jumps on Seven Mile Beach.  It is so much fun especially for families who have teenagers.  I need to find all my beach jump shots and upload it on this slideshow!  If you would like to schedule a morning of beach jump shots - please get in touch. Preparing for the Beach Jump Shot

So most of you only have an hour with me on the beach so I have a lot of clients who actually practice beach jumps way ahead of time.  The first thing to do is to make sure you don't have a bad knee or anything wrong with your back.  Then stand on solid ground and jump as high as you can - please note, this is not a running jump, this is a static jump from one position.   If you can lift off maybe 2 feet, ideally 3 feet, then we are good to go - I will take care of the rest.  On the day of the actual shoot itself please bring water and a change of clothes if you are going out to eat afterwards.  You do not want to show up for lunch wearing sweaty clothes filled with sand.  

Types of Jump Shots

1. Rock Star Jump - this is when you jump like you are a rock star and your guitar  

2. Spiderman Jump - this is when you jump looking like Spidey does when he is about to release his web

3. Superman Jump - when you feel like the man of steel, one knee up and one arm straight up

4. Peter Pan Jump - this is usually for married / engaged couples

5. Free Style Jump - this is when you jump as though no one is looking

6. Fighting Jumps - this is when I make you look better than Bruce Lee

7. Ballerina Jumps - this is the only running jump on the book

8. Just Jump - well, because you can't do any of the jumps 

9. X Jump - yes you look like the letter X

10. You Jump - very much like the freestyle but we can name it after you because I have never seen it before
